So, who are ARW Services ?

The company was created in April 2003 to offer services for home users or small businesses, who have limited IT skills.

If was identified that there were limited outlets for Customers who wanted basic computer maintenance or solutions.  Invariably, these people would be working during the day, or if a small business, unable to release the systems until after normal working hours.  Additionally, it would be preferable for the work to be done at home, or at the business premises.

Cost was another factor.  Hiring a computer technician (if you could find one) proved very expensive, and in general, they are only available during normal working hours.  Wouldn't it be convenient for someone to turn up at your doorstep for a couple of hours, yet not charge you premium rates.

ARW Services was setup to try and address all of these needs, offering as much flexibility as possible to meet consumers requirements.  Many people are very wary of computers, and even scared to perform the most basic tasks for fear of crashing the system.  We understand this, and the services such as the Health Check not only address these areas, but pass on skills to the Customer to confidently perform some of the tasks themselves in the future.

Our staff have supported computer systems for UK and International manufacturing companies from between 5 and 18 years.  These range from large servers across multiple sites to small PC based Client/Server solutions.  We have a vast range of skills in system management of Windows and UNIX Operating Systems, as well as in depth administration skills in databases such as Oracle.  Our experiences in supporting these solutions over the years have exposed us to many unusual events and environments giving us the skills and knowledge to investigate and resolve most types of IT technical issues.

But does this mean we are the right people for the smaller jobs ?  Definitely.  Our staff are customer focussed, and are used to dealing with - how should I put it without being rude - end users with limited technical skills.  Much of our experience is in supporting these type of people, and we try to build relationships to help them understand the basic requirements in running "this electronic box of tricks which keeps crashing and will be the death of me".
